This article will provide an overview of OPTIZMO's Managed Domain & IP Service within SUPPRESS, and some of the benefits of using this service.
What is the OPTIZMO Managed Domain & IP Service?
This provides SUPPRESS clients more flexibility and control over how their domains and IP addresses are set up for their account in a few simple steps. Before this service, SUPPRESS clients could only set up their own Custom Domain by purchasing the domain themselves and adding it to their account. Now with the OPTIZMO Managed Domain & IP Service, clients can have OPTIZMO take care of the procurement, setup, and management of new domains and IP's used in your account.
What are the Benefits of Using the OPTIZMO Managed Domain & IP Service?
We do all the work for you! Instead of you needing to procure and set up domains for your SUPPRESS account, we do it for you. As well as provide monitoring for those domains to make sure they are functioning correctly, and are not in a compromised state to help ensure email deliverability. In addition to domains, we also provide different IP address options that help Advertisers and marketing agencies reduce the risk of any potential compromise by third-parties.
Every new SUPPRESS account is provided with one complimentary domain and shared IP address (*Please note - depending on your account plan, the IP address setup will vary. Details will be outlined in your service agreements). Having this standard setup works for most clients when they are working with one or a small number of email partners. However, risks of mailer activity inadvertently affecting each other increases the more mailing partners you work with. As such, OPTIZMO always recommends setting up individual domains for each one of your mailers/publishers as a security best practice. By taking this approach, you will have more transparency into potential issues at the individual mailer level, and any issues they encounter will only impact the domain of that single mailer. From a compliance perspective, this will ensure the Opt-Out Links being used by your mailer partners aren't widely impacted by a potential single mailer's issue.
We also took this approach a step further by allowing you to isolate your Opt-Out traffic at the IP address level, where you have a choice of placing your domains on either a shared IP or a dedicated IP - with a Dedicated IP being the most secure. This operates much in the same way that Email Service Providers (ESPs) do, where they offer clients a shared IP address out of the box, but you can upgrade to a dedicated IP at an extra cost. The rationale being that you isolate your own traffic from other ESP clients, and vice versa.
When you have your domains placed on a Dedicated IP Address there are no other domains linked to that IP address except for yours, which isolates the the Opt-Out traffic to the domains from your SUPPRESS account only.

Why is my SUPPRESS Account Not on a Dedicated IP Address Now?
Using one IP address to support multiple accounts within SaaS platforms and web services is a common practice, and we designed the SUPPRESS IP address infrastructure with scalability in mind. Allowing multiple clients to share one IP address helped us accomplish this goal, as well as achieving our clients' goals. However, the requests we've received indicated a growing demand for more segmentation and granular IP/Domain capabilities.
