Overview

Once you have completed setting up the integration between the two platforms (start here if you have not yet done so), you will have the ability to create new Opt-Out Lists in OPTIZMO, and assign them to your offers in CAKE without ever leaving the CAKE system. 

In short, an Opt-Out list will reside within the Advertiser profile under which you create it in CAKE (or within a Brand in CAKE For Advertisers). As a Mailer clicks Download Suppression List within their CAKE Affiliate Portal, an API call is triggered which will send OPTIZMO the appropriate info on the Advertiser, Campaign and Opt-Out List being accessed, and by which Mailer.

General Information Around Lists and Functionality Within CAKE

• The API integration functions one-way, meaning OPTIZMO only pulls data from CAKE, it doesn't send any back. Any lists you wish to appear in CAKE must be created through the process outlined in this article. Creating an Opt-Out List directly in OPTIZMO will result in that list not appearing for use in CAKE.
• This also means that any Advertiser, Campaign and Mailer Profiles that need to be available in CAKE will also be created there. OPTIZMO will pull the appropriate info on these as the list is created, and when Mailers access the file.
• Moving existing lists between offers is doable, however if you are a Network and have created a Linked List using an Access Key provided to you by another OPTIZMO Advertiser, there are a few extra steps. 
• The integration works with both Network and Advertiser type OPTIZMO accounts.
• If you have a Network Account, you cannot use the same Opt-Out List across multiple Advertiser profiles in CAKE. The Advertiser is a natural segmentation wall of data within the architecture of both systems. 

Creating an Opt-Out List

There are three different types of lists you may create within OPTIZMO: 

• Standard List (All account types)
• Grouped List (All account types)
• Linked List (Network Accounts only)

Creating a Standard List

To begin creating a new Standard Opt-Out List:

1. Navigate to any Offer Card within CAKE that you would like to apply the list to.
2. Click the Affiliate Tab along the top of the Card.
3. Click the green '+' to the right.

This will initiate a pop-up where you will enter appropriate info. 

1. Required fields are List Name, and Location.
2. Choose OPTIZMO from the Location Drop Down.
3. Then click "Next".

Now, you will see a confirmation page locking in the info you just entered.

If all looks good, click "Finish".

A new tab in your browser will open, and you will be working within the settings area of OPTIZMO for this Opt-Out List, and the Advertiser which you began the creation process under.

1. Proceed with putting your required settings in place for the Advertiser and Opt-Out List.
2. Upload any existing list you may have to begin with under the "Add Emails" tab.
3. Be sure to save all settings along the way.
4. Once complete, simply close the tab in your browser.

Back in CAKE, you will now see this new list name in the Suppression List field, and if using OPTIZMO Opt-Out Links, a note that says your link is Dynamically Generated by OPTIZMO.

This list is now available for use in all Campaigns within this Advertiser or Brand, by simply navigating to each offer card, selecting the list from the drop down, and saving the changes.

Creating a Grouped List

Procedurally, you will follow the exact same steps as creating a Standard List. You will simply repeat the process as needed for each new Standard List you'd like to be part of the new Group. Then, you will create your Group and lock it in to the offer(s). For more info on the settings and use cases of Grouped Lists, please see the link in the first highlighted note of this article.

Creating a Linked List

A Linked List is a list type only available in Network accounts.

Linking a list allows Network users to grab Suppression Files in real time from their Advertiser clients who use OPTIZMO.

A Mailer Access Key (MAK) is sent to the Network from the Advertisers account, and the Network simply plugs in the key, creating a "set it and forget it" solution to managing suppression for the Advertiser's offers.

To begin creating a new Linked Opt-Out List:

1. Navigate to any Offer Card within CAKE that you would like to apply the list to.
2. Click the Affiliate Tab along the top of the Card.
3. Click the green '+' to the right.

This will initiate a pop-up where you will enter appropriate info. 

1. Required fields are List Name, and Location.
2. Choose OPTIZMO from the Location Drop Down.
3. Tick the "Received OPTIZMO Access Key" checkbox.
4. Input the MAK you received from your Advertiser to the marked field.
5. Click "Next".
6. Enjoy automated Suppression List Management for this Advertiser and Offer!
