What is the difference between Shared and Dedicated IP Address?
What is a Shared IP Address?
A Shared IP Address means that the IP address attached to your account is shared with other SUPPRESS accounts. This is a standard model of account configuration for web based SaaS providers.
What is a Dedicated IP Address?
A Dedicated IP Address means that your account is the only assigned to the IP, and it is NOT shared with any other SUPPRESS accounts. The benefit of this setup is that it allows you to isolate your domain(s) and associated opt-out traffic from other SUPPRESS accounts. You have the flexibility in your account to add as many Dedicated IP Addresses, each with its own associated Premium Domain as you would like for additional service fees.
Please see pricing information for both Shared and Dedicated options here.
Are there any drawbacks to using a Shared IP Address?
Utilizing shared IP addresses is a standard practice among web services and SaaS providers where multiple accounts or websites are often attached to one IP address. Even though a Shared IP Address is not as isolated as a Dedicated IP Address, it still provides a secure method to manage your Opt-Out Link domains. OPTIZMO does provide a domain monitoring service for all your OPTIZMO Managed Domains and IP addresses in your account, which can help identify if one has been compromised in any way that may impact the deliverability of email to your customers.
